"Wait...an energy bar from a candy company? REALLY???"
The blunt truth is that most energy bars are built around some pretty decent ingredients but start off low in carbs and taste like...well...in our view...absolute garbage. Big manufacturers, thinking "left to right" to get their bars to taste less disgusting and have some quick fuel, just DUMP sugar into their energy bars. For example the "Crunchy Peanut Butter" CLIF® Bar has 88% of its total sugar from added sugar, but has over 20% less caloric density per ounce than our bar. Or they just taste downright weird, which is our opinion after trying the Honey and Cookies & Cream waffles from Honey Stinger®...which are nearly 32% lower in caloric density per ounce than our bar with 92% of calories from carbs (good for sprinters and HIIT but not as well suited for lasting energy during endurance sports and sustained performance needs) and have less than half our electrolytes.
Our bars were launched to solve a simple issue. A family member (mountaineer) asked us about forming our soft peanut brittle into pressed bars to put into his nut and fruit trail mix. They liked the sugar, fat, and protein, and LOVED the taste of our bars. But then...
We decided to think "right to left"...which means that we started with our stupidly amazing and addicting soft peanut brittle candy and built a bar around it, adding all the good things your body needs when competing in endurance sports, strenuous sustained activity, or even hours into physically demanding work.

and UPS rate tables.
Expedition Bites/Bars are fairly heat-resistant and do not require cold-pack shipping under about 95-100ºF ambient temperature. Unless shipping to southern/border states with extreme summer heat, cold-pack shipping is GENERALLY not required. IF your pouch arrives with the pieces warm/soft or sticking together at all, place the sealed pouch in a refrigerator for 20 minutes to cool and then shake the pouch gently to separate the squares.
